Return of the Warrior
As the First “Return of The Warrior” comes to a close, many lifelong friends have reunited, and many administrators have the feeling of accomplishment. From going far and wide- to universities, trade schools, military branches, and so much more, today proves to many that there truly is no feeling like home. Today started with the wise and welcoming words of Elizabeth Forward High’s principal Mr. Routh, along with superintendent Dr. Todd Keruskin. The newest Warrior alumni enjoyed a nice meal with their old friends, gave advice to the current high schoolers, received some prizes, and even joined in on a few volleyball games in Mr. Byers’ gym classes. Many peers shared interesting things that have happened over the past few months since they have been gone, many clubs they’re involved in, their majors, and where they are currently attending. Teachers even managed to partake in the event, such as Mrs. Cope, asking how she could better her classes to make it more beneficial to prepare her students for college. The faculty in attendance and the Warrior alumni both found this to be a memorable, but also a useful experience. As everyone bids a farewell, the Elizabeth Forward staff hopes that this will bring the past students a sense of belonging in this community, even after graduation. A relationship between the place you have grown up is crucial, and having this time to reflect is a very big step in the right direction for this group of people, and many generations to come.
