Each semester, Ms. Gabrielson’s coding classes participate in Carnegie Mellon University’s Computer Science Department coding contest for high schools around the country. Each school gets to submit three student projects. This year, all three Elizabeth Forward High School students placed! Freshman Lily Douglass came in 2nd place for Unit 1 (out of over 200 entries). Sophomore Sienna Exler came in 1st place for Unit 3. And Sophomore Emma Durant came in 3rd place in Unit 5.
Over 15,000 students participate in CMU’s computer science program. It is a huge accomplishment for these three students to have won! Their hard work and coding skills have allowed them to create projects that are truly impressive!
