As part of our public speaking classes, students think about issues that they care about deeply - topics with personal meaning to them that they feel would best be shared with the rest of the world. They create their own TED Talks about their selected topic, developing a strong throughline that connects their personal experiences with what their audience would care about. This blending of technology and social communication gives students access to the TED Talk library of speeches given by adults and young people, which gives the students a strong sense of belonging to a larger community.
