Functional Training for Sports
Students who take this course will reach a higher level of athleticism. The course will focus on training the whole body the way it will be used during competition. Detailed exercise progressions and training will help students’ develop the movement skills, body positions, and explosive power necessary to excel at his or her sport. Students will improve their total athleticism, enhance their performance, and reduce injuries through sport appropriate exercise progressions. Proper nutrition tips and concussion awareness will also be taught. Training progressions will focus on improving speed, power, quickness, agility, balance, strength, flexibility, coordination, and reaction time. Each student-athlete that participates in this course will earn an EF Warrior “Athlete in Training” T-Shirt at the end of the course.
