William Penn Chess Club
Students learned the rules and etiquette of the game. The club was 6 weeks long in the fall and 6 weeks long in the spring. The first few weeks students learned the different movements of each of the pieces. The final week was the William Penn Chess Championship and pizza party. The tournament was set up "March Madness" style with brackets until there was a champion. The fall winner was Amanda from Mr. Wieclaw's class, and the spring winner was Tyler from Mrs. Menzies' class.
