The Art Club

  This year the art club worked on an original painting.  The students were each given their own canvas board to start with.  The students could pick any subject for their painting.  Many of the students found inspiration by exploring the Internet, looking through books or simply from their own imagination.  Then the students sketched what they wanted to paint on the canvas board.  The students then used acrylic paints to complete their paintings.  The students learned to work from the back to the front, starting with the background, then middle ground and finally the foreground and details.  The students also experimented with the dry brush technique.  They learned that paintings couldn’t be finished in one hour.  The students learned that the more time they took and that greater attention to detail, was what made a painting really stand out.  All of the art club members did an amazing job.  Their paintings are outstanding!!
