Reading: Think Central
The following website allows you access to many of the resources we use in our classroom:
http://www.thinkcentral.com/index.htm
Click on Reading & Language Arts on the left
Click on StoryTown
A new window will open and you will use the drop boxes to choose State, District, and School.
Then you should enter your child’s user name and password, this can be located on the handout I sent home last month. IF you have misplaced the information, please feel free to contact me and I will resend your child's information.
Tips for Parents (Home involvement is the key to success!):
' Your child should set aside a regular time to read each day.
' Your child has the opportunity to get books from the library each week, help them take advantage of that. Remind them to read or read with them!
' Model good reading habits.
' Point out printed words in your environment that you feel your child may not know. Expose them to new words. Encourage them to point out words they may not know!
' Have reading and writing materials readily available. (paper, pencils, crayons, markers)
