An Introduction to Fourth Grade Math
During math this year, you will learn so much. The year begins with developing number sense. We will learn about the patterns of larger numbers as well as what happens to the left of the ones place.....that means decimals. This leads us into fractions because decimals and fractions are the same thing. They are both numbers that represent amounts that are smaller than one, but larger than zero. We'll add and subtract, obviously. And, we'll explore geometry like you never have before. We'll notice some cool stuff about raisin data...What's that?...he he he! But, most of all, we'll develop an understanding of how addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are related. All in all, understanding the concepts of and relationships between big ideas in math will be our year long goal.
